What are bed bugs?
Bed bugs are tiny insects that thrive in warm, small spaces. While their bites are harmless in terms of health complications, they can be itchy and naturally, the thought of them intruding on our personal spaces can cause distress and prevent a good night’s sleep.
What are some signs you may have bed bugs in your bed?
If you wake up with bites or itching, this could be a sign you have bed bugs; you may also spot their droppings or even catch one. But they are tiny – making them easy to miss!
You may notice some musty odours that seem to come out of nowhere. A bed bug infestation can smell like musty, damp towels, and is generally unpleasant.
Blood stains can also appear when you have bed bugs, which is from accidentally crushing them throughout the night.
If you spot any pearly shaped oval eggs these are likely to be bed bug eggs. The reason they spread so rapidly is because female bed bugs tend to lay around one to seven per day – which hatch within seven to ten days.
If you are concerned you may have bed bugs in your bed then the sooner you take action, the better!
