Our mission

The natural world is pivotal to Panda’s brand, so protecting it is fundamental to our mission. All of our sleep and bath products are made using organic bamboo from FSC-managed forests. Added to that, we employ a closed-loop bamboo process, saving 98% of water during production, resulting in our luxuriously soft bedding collections.

Conscious of how much waste the bedding industry generates, we came up with our Circle of Life initiative to prevent our mattresses from ending up in landfills. It’s a simple and convenient process, as when we deliver a mattress to a customer, we’ll collect their end-of-life mattress at no extra cost. Unwanted mattresses are then either recycled, rejuvenated or donated to charity.

We believe we are one of the most sustainable brands in the market, proactively working towards several climate goals in 2025. We’re committed to being one of the top climate-conscious brands in the market by:

  • Finalising our impact report for 2024
  • Continuing to minimise our effect on natural habitats
  • Maintaining our closed-loop system
  • Performing a life cycle assessment
  • On the path to being carbon neutral

Why do we use bamboo?

With so many benefits to health and the planet, bamboo was a natural choice for us. The bamboo plant is abundant, growing up to three per day. It absorbs toxic greenhouse gases and releases more oxygen than hardwood trees. Therefore, it’s no surprise it’s a highly breathable choice for sleep–promoting airflow and wicking away moisture, it keeps you dry throughout the night. Other benefits of using bamboo in bedding fabric include:

  • Anti-allergy – bamboo is ideal for those who suffer from allergies or common skin conditions such as eczema
  • Antibacterial – fends off dust and bacteria
  • Thermoregulating – bamboo will keep you at the correct temperature, whatever the season
  • Odour-resistant and ultra-absorbent – keeping bedtime fresh
  • Super-soft – the ultimate in luxurious comfort for sound slumbers

The bamboo variant we chose for our bedding has a premium thread count of 320, which surpasses the highest cotton thread count (120). Spun to make the silkiest smooth threads, creating the optimum in cocooning comfort for the sleeper.

What are the environmental benefits of bamboo?

Bamboo is one of the fastest-growing plants in the world, making it a highly renewable resource. Absorbing carbon dioxide, bamboo also produces 35% more oxygen than a forest of trees, reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere.

Requiring less water than cotton to produce, bamboo is naturally pest-repellent, so it doesn’t need to be treated with harmful chemicals or pesticides. In turn, this keeps the environment and water surrounding it clean and non-toxic for the local inhabitants. Every part of the bamboo plant can be used from the shoots to the stalk, for a variety of uses, from food to paper and packaging.

A conventional mattress has a CO₂ footprint of 100–150 kg CO₂e compared to a bamboo mattress, which has a 30–80 kg CO₂e. The estimated savings are 30–100+ kg CO₂e saved per mattress, which works out to be a 30–70% reduction. This is chosen by using bamboo, which is much better for our planet.

Our bamboo products

Our bamboo bedding proves how using a sustainable fabric creates the most indulgent bedding for an incredible night’s sleep. We have three bedding collections: 100% Bamboo, Bamboo & French Line, and our Signature+™. Created in nature-inspired colours, our Signature+™ Bedding Set encapsulates the blissful benefits of bamboo without costing the earth.

Our Signature+™ is made with bamboo lyocell fabric using our closed-loop manufacturing process, where 98% of water is recycled and reused. Ultra-absorbent, thermoregulating and moisture-wicking, this set is ideal for year-round use, keeping you dry and comfortable. Antibacterial properties fend off dirt and bacteria, and as it is hypoallergenic, the fabric is suitable for those with allergies and even the most sensitive skin types.

Bamboo not only transforms bedtime, but bathtime too. Our Bamboo towel range has been created using a zero-twist method, where each loop on the towel is left open so they don’t need to be twisted or spun multiple times. This process makes the towel durable and fluffy. Our Bamboo Bath Sheet will seal in the relaxation of your bath, enveloping you in softness. Quick-drying and super absorbent, it’s highly durable, so it will remain in your cupboard for many years to come.
