Bamboo Lyocell Fabric Explained

Bamboo Lyocell is the beautifully soft and smooth fabric we use to create our Signature+™ Bamboo Bedding Sets, Fitted Sheets, Duvet Covers and Pillowcases. Lyocell gets its name from the eco-friendly, closed-loop production method that turns the bamboo plant into a stunning textile.

How is Bamboo Lyocell fabric produced?

Lyocell production involves a very specific process of breaking down bamboo pulp, differentiating it from other bamboo bedding fabrics that are available such as bamboo rayon (viscose) and bamboo modal. The lyocell process uses a non-toxic solvent (amine oxide), resulting in a product that is less synthetic and the most sustainable on the market.

A closed-loop process ensures that the majority of water and solvent is reused in the manufacturing process, resulting in less water and waste consumption – making it much kinder to the environment.
