What size bedding do I need for university halls?

That depends on the size of your mattress. A logical first step is to check with your university or accommodation provider what the size of your mattress is. If this information isn’t available, you’ll have to measure your mattress instead.

Use a tape measure to measure the width, length and depth of your mattress, this will give you your mattress size. You can find out your mattress size using the measurements in our bedding size guide.

Once you have the size of your mattress you can start kitting out your uni bedroom with confidence. The size of all our uni bedding essentials can be found on our product description pages. Dimensions are given in centimetres in our size guide and next to the size name before you add an item to your basket.

Will a mattress topper fit a university bed?

Once you have the measurements of your mattress, finding a topper that fits is simple. Our toppers come with adjustable elastic straps that fit all kinds of mattresses and an anti-slip layer to prevent them sliding.

Both our mattress toppers are available as Small Doubles, so there’s plenty of size options to choose from. A quick comparison can help you decide which topper works best for you.

FAQ

What do I actually need for my uni bed?

Building a bedroom that feels like a home from home can be difficult, especially with so many items you could take with you.

What is included in a bedding set?

A bedding set is an easy way to get your uni bedroom must-haves in one go. Our bedding sets include:

  • A duvet cover
  • A fitted sheet
  • A pillow case (our bedding sets include one pillow case in Single sets and two pillow cases in larger bedding sets)

When you buy a bedding set from us, from the first bedtime your sleep improves from the amazing qualities of our bamboo fabric. The naturally temperature regulating, anti-allergy and sustainable material makes switching off after a long day of lectures that little bit easier.

How many bedding sets do I need for uni?

Two bedding sets is a good place to start. One sitting pretty on your bed while the other is in the wash, or on standby.

A backup bedding set means you won’t have to wait to clean and dry items when you need to freshen things up. If you accidentally spill something on your sheets, you’ve got a replacement ready to go.

Are all student beds single beds?

No. Single is the most common-sized bed in UK halls of residence but rooms come with other sized mattresses too. The most common size after a standard single is a Small Double, which some retailers don’t stock.

Luckily for you, our fitted sheets, mattress toppers and mattress protectors come in UK Small Double size and bring all the natural benefits of bamboo.
